Winter Park Police Vice Squad unit arrested Rollins College and UCF students Monday night during an undercover drug bust. Students at both colleges spent the night in the Orange County Jail after a sting operation netted both buyers and sellers of illegal drugs.

Among those arrested was Keith Prusak, 25, who is accused of selling a pound of marijuana/cannabis to a undercover drug agent.

Police set up shop at the house on Northwood Boulvevard, near Baldwain Park, after arresting four or five occupants, spokesman Officer Jim Whitman said. All together, police seized three pounds of marijuana, four ounces of hallucinogenic mushrooms, 14 grams of cocaine, two pistols and $12,840 in cash. Of those arrested, five defendants identified themselves as students.

The defendants included two or three from Rollins College and one or two from UCF, Whitman said. One student arrested, Cory Fritch, 22, listed his home address as the Rollins campus on Holt Avenue in Winter Park. After agents sold him a small amount of pot from agents, they discovered he possessed almost a half-ounce of cocaine, records show

Anthony Ducasse, 25, of Clermont was arrested by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and accused of attempting to smuggle approximately 7 ounces of Marijuana into a state prison facility in Clermont. Ducasse had been employed as a contracted food service worker.

According to Lake County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Jim Vachon, the drugs were discovered during a daily pat down of workers entering the Lake Correctional Institution off U.S. Highway 27 in Clermont. Deputies responded to the scene at the request of prison officials and apprehended Ducasse today, Vachon said. The drugs were in a plastic bag and concealed in Ducasse’s pants.

Antony Ducasse, 25, was found in possession of the narcotics during a staff inspection at a prison gate, according to a statement from LCSO Sgt. Jim Vachon. The street value of the drugs was estimated at $500. No additional illegal drugs were found after authorities conducted a search of Ducasse’s vehicle.

Ducasse is facing charges of possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, introduction of contraband into a state facility and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, all felony charges. He is now held at the Lake County Jail on $12,000 bond.

According to a Sheriff’s Office report, a clerk at the Kangaroo gas station at 4900 County Road 200A in Ocala, FL called the Sheriff’s Office shortly after 9 p.m. Monday and told a dispatcher someone had been passed out in their vehicle for about 20 minutes.

A deputy noted in his report that as he approached the vehicle, he smelled a strong odor of alcohol. The driver, later identified as Rafael Delgado Rivera, was talking on a phone. His eyes were bloodshot, his eyelids were droopy and his speech was slurred.

Rivera told the deputy he had taken Xanax and Oxycodone, and had approximately five to six beers.

While getting out of the vehicle, the deputy said Rivera fell down and his body locked up and his eyes rolled back.

An ambulance was called and Rivera was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where it was determined he had opiates and cannabis in his system, and had a .336 blood alcohol content.

Officials discovered his driver’s license was suspended in September 2007 for failure to pay child support. Rivera remained at the hospital for several hours so his alcohol and drug combination could subside before he was released. He then was taken to the Marion County Jail.

If you have been charged with a DUI in Orange County or Seminole County, Florida, please contact the experienced criminal defense lawyers at Tilden Law for a free initial consultation, 407-599-1234.
